Course Overview:
This course is designed for people who wish to have a career as a professional contract or employee bookkeeper. This course suits people who are either working under the direction of a Tax Agent/Public Accountant, for a Bookkeeping Business a Franchise or in their own Bookkeeping Business as a BAS Service Provider.
Units offered:
This qualification requires 13 units, consisting of 4 core units, 7 sectoral and 2 electives.

FNSBKPG401A - Develop and implement policies and practices relevant to bookkeeping activities
FNSBKPG402A - Establish and maintain a Cash Accounting System
FNSBKPG403A - Establish and maintain an Accrual Accounting System
FNSBKPG404A - Carry out Business Activity and Instalment Activity Statement tasks
FNSBKPG405A - Establish and maintain a payroll system
FNSACCT405B - Prepare financial statements
FNSACCT406B - Maintain asset and inventory records

Participants are encouraged to select elective units, which most appropriately suit their current employment situation or future career aspirations, within the qualification guidelines.
Training & Assessment Strategies:
The units of competency in the qualification is delivered through self paced learning or distance learning. The course is structured to ensure that participants develop skills and knowledge, relating to real life work situations.
Workplace application of skills and knowledge:
Skills and knowledge gained apply in a range of workplaces of varying size, where participants are employed in bookkeeping roles, as an employee, consultant or franchisee.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
There are no entry requirements or prerequisites for this course, although year 10 or equivalent English, access to a computer, computer skills and access to the internet are beneficial.
